About Me

I've shared my life with dogs for over a decade and my camera for even longer.

For more than fifteen years, photography has been both my passion and my creative outlet. My work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, shortlisted in the Sony World Photography Awards, and shown with The London Group fine art collective, of which I'm proud to be a member.

Yet despite years spent photographing architecture and creating fine art images, I realised the subjects that meant the most to me had four legs and wagging tails.

That journey began with Harvey, my first dog, who has been by my side for over twelve years. Ironically, Harvey has never been the easiest subject—he's convinced the camera is up to no good and will happily look anywhere but the lens. Luna, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. She thrives on the attention and seems happiest when she's in front of the camera.

Living with two dogs at opposite ends of the spectrum has taught me that there is no such thing as the perfect model. Every dog has their own personality, their own pace and their own quirks. My job isn't to force them into poses—it's to understand who they are and create portraits that reflect their character.

Velvet & Hound was born from that realisation.

My aim is simple: to create timeless, elegant portraits that celebrate your dog's unique personality. Every session is relaxed, unhurried and tailored to your dog, allowing them to feel comfortable enough for their true character to shine through. The result is artwork that doesn't simply show what your dog looked like, but preserves something of who they are.

Our time with them is never long enough. Long after the muddy paw prints have faded from the floor and the walks have become treasured memories, I hope the portraits we create will continue to tell their story—bringing a smile, stirring a memory and reminding you of the companion who shared your life.
